QUESTION:
Does the refresher or review need to be done by a certified instructor in that particular less or non lethal weapon such as the Asp?
ANSWER:
The agency determines what the scope of the refresher training is. Some just have a policy review that covers those weapons. It just needs to be documented and cover each employee that is issued those weapons. The standard does not specify how the refresher training is conducted or whether it must be conducted by a certified assessor.
