How often does an officer/deputy need to be trained for this standard? The Code of Virginia does not specify how often.
Solution QUESTION: How often does an officer/deputy need to be trained for this standard? The Code of Virginia does not specify how often.

ANSWER:
Initial training for this standard will suffice. The Code of Virginia does not call for any on-going training. The agency should, however, keep this information up to date, as new benefits may be added from time to time.

A good practice would be to provide this information to all current sworn employees and then begin providing it to all new sworn employees as part of any orientation. Have them sign a form stating that they received the info, etc.
